make it louder on the cheap

hey guys - picked up a new 2010 c2s. what are my best options for making it louder without spending a ton? start with an intake (will that really make much difference?)? do i need to do a full exhaust to just get a nice deep growl?

your input is appreciated.

If you want just loud, the muffler bypass pipes are cheap and add a lot of volume for the buck, but it may be too loud. I have some sitting in my garage. PM if interested.

If you go Gundo hack, my recommendation is 1.5" or 1.75" diameter pipes.

Define "a ton".. No face-shot intended, but I still have a hard time fig'r'n out why a guy would spend $90+K on a new 911 and scrimp on the pipes. That, and if you hack the stock pipe, that may become a price factor come trade-in or sell time.

Easy answer

Gundo hack. I got mine from Darrin Fister a few weeks ago and it's great.

+1 on that comment. Not to mention the potential warranty issue once your OPC discover's the "mod" to his previously stock exhaust system.

yup no intention of hacking the exhaust - i would rather make some changes that can be easily reversed when it comes to trade in time...

i would like to keep it under $2k...i have no issue spending the money on the car - i'm just looking for a better sound and really don't think its worth another $3-5k for that. agree with you 100% on the gundo hack..looked into it and just don't think its a good idea come trade in time

Show me several pics of the car, inside and out and I'll tell you how to cheaply modify the sound.
