Silverbullet911 is infamous around these parts
Give your local Porsche dealer a call. That is what I did. They will not do the install at the dealer, but they typically sub out their custom installs.

Let's keep this thread going. You would think there would be a cost effective way to just headphone jack your iPod into the system.

Hi, i've been using the Monster unit 300 for years, much cheaper than the 500 or 800 series it works much better and is simpler. It does have the advance features and charging for the latest products from Apple but it does a great job at a "simple" price...

  1. Pioneer Avic Z120BT $900
  2. Pioneer Ipod cable $40
  3. JL XD600/6 amp $400
  4. Eurospeed bezel kit $275
  5. Plate frame backup camera $150
  6. Parrot dual mic $40
  7. Installation $600
All in $2,400. The Pioneer, Kenwood or Apline 2 din units are the typical choices. All shoud have Ipod integration, bluetooth nav and voice command, pick a system that you perfer. You can also choose different levels of a swap. You can choose to swap the PCM with a head unit and use the power from the HU for about $1,500 or go down the road of gutting the whole system including speakers.

I am not a techno or high end audio person, all I needed was the functionality and a boost to the system with the new amp. I retained the Bose speakers. Sounds way better than the PCM. The most important part of the swap is the installer. Mine did a greeat job. He works on our cars all day long. The only holes he drill were to mount the amp inside the original navi casing. Very clean install. Many threads on this forum in connection with a swap. Here are some pics:
Hopefully your amp is switchable to 4 ohm speaker load. Otherwise you're going to have to install impedance matching resistors to get down to the 4 ohm Bose speaker ratings. The problem with resistors is they cut out frequency response. Since you've invested so much money in some very quality aftermarket equipment, why not eliminate the weak link and get rid of the Bose speakers.

I was considering Focal speakers, but with a cab its not the best evironment IMHO to replace all the speakers. I was primary looking for functionality. The new system sounds way better than the OEM.

Really nice installation on that SilverBullet911!

The aftermarket surround looks really solid.

The backup camera is really great. Highly recommended as well
