Price check for a 2009 997S

Did I pay too much, maybe a few grand but got a really nice car from a good dealer I am really happy with

Forgot to mention that unfortunately it was not PDK. Car is perfect in every other sense so its still not a bad deal.
I have had many manual cars and was looking for a PDK when this opportunity came up and decided to jump on it.
Will probably hold on to the car for a few years and make the move to a 991 after they are out and debugged.

That seems way high. I'd probably sell you mine for that . I'd suggest $75k or less. And I have PDK, plus all the important options..

I was offered 75K and 72K by two diffeent dealerships on my 2009 car almost one year ago.
MSRP on my car was 105 and I got 20 percent off in 2009 when it was new.(84K )
I can't imagine paying 79K and 80K for a car now .
If I spend more than 70K for a car it better be either a new car or a Turbo but a two year old 997S? No way.

This is why I need you guys! If you look on the Porsche site all the good deals are not real - they've been "sold" whenever I call.
So, nicely optioned 911S Coupe, 2009, with PDK, $70K? I've not seen anything close to that.
If a dealer quotes, say, $80K, can I offer $70K?

Doesn't hurt to ask. You can make a low ball offer but be prepared for a no.
There are slim pickings on 09's. In fact there are slim pickings in all areas.
This is not the fire sale of 2009.

if you could find a dealer with a 2010 new there taking 22,500 off those.
i would look at it like must be at least 25k off of sticker. with CPO
10k off a new car can be had pretty easy..so a extra 15k for it being a 09
Targa would be hard to find below 80
here is a couple

2009 was a year where the production numbers were so high that if you read the poszts of that time here you'll see that there were huge incentives . There was even a point where there were so many cars that they were offering incentives to dealerships to accept them from shipping .
There were also many launch cars which were identical creating an abundance of the same car . Here's an example that another forum member posted .. I think the car sold for 75K https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...my-dealer.html
The economy got better , production decreased. the Panamera and new Cayenne sell so well that the sellers forgot what it was like to have quiet days of no sales .
Not that it matters .. make the offer and walk OR pay 10K more than what the car is really worth .. OR .. buy a new car . As long as one has to overpay .. it may as well be new.

Here's another old thread from 2009 . It's long but worth reading to give an idea of what these cars were selling for back then. In this thread the original poster was debating the idea of getting a loaded 2008 leftover for 40K off MSRP OR a 2009 c2S which he ended up getting for 20 percent off . https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...good-deal.html
It was very shortly after I read this thread that I decided to make the same offer of 20 percent off on a 997S and bought my car . At that time I wasn't even looking to buy a 997S . I still don't even really need my 997S . I think i bought it partially because i wanted to try the PDK but morso because after all the years of buying Porsches I wanted at least to be able to feel like I got a bargain just once.
