Brake Pad - Rotor Change Together or Not (a dealership story)
#16
FYI - just changed my pads front and read after 29K miles and still have about 25% left. Did it for track - brake pad requirements of at least 50%. No need to change rotor if not damaged. BS that its a requirement. The shop I use is honest in this respect and do quality work. They also do a brake fluid change at the same time. Car brakes like new.
Thanks for info

No need to change rotors
If they are straight you are fine. My dealer here in florida told me the same thing and its simply not true. Even if you have some cracks which mine did as long as the crack dont extend from one cross drilled hole to another your are fine assuming your rotors are drilled. Also as far as working on your car I switched pads every month when I got to the track. I takes me less than an hour to do all for pads you could totally do it in your condo assuming the comandos dont give you a hard the time. Good luck.

Had a similar situation at a dealer and took it to a local shop who told me they were fine. That was my last trip to that dealer. Thanks for posting the spec sheet - could have used that when this was going down!
