The rear 305's won't fit in the tire guide, but even if they did, I wouldn't do it.

Thank you all for confirming my suspicion. I haven't done it but now will never do it!
I agreed that washing your Pcar is a powerful connection that many people cannot experience. The 911 and 986 is not a big deal to hand wash..it's the damm Cayenne that takes forever.

What about this power washer that goncoo mentioned above? Wouldn't that spray be too powerful? I'm just trying to see other options to making the wash more efficient. Side note..what type of wax are you guys using that safe for your Pcar?

I think the consensus here and other boards was that if it was under ~1800 PSI (mental average of all the PSIs I read) itd be ok, and not to use it too close to the car. Plus the more GPM the better. People mentioned that if it hurts your hand, then its too close to the car. So just be careful when using it.

I tried the power washer already on my other dirtier car and it doesnt get stuff off as well as by hand. It definitely made cleaning the rims a WHOLE lot faster! Thats what I plan on using it for mostly, and to get the bugs off the front of the car.

Zaino for 'wax'.

I distinctly recall hand washing my '77 Toyota Corolla SR5 in the early '80's while in college and having a vivid day dream I was washing a bright red 911. Never shook that image and never put any of my Porsches (4) through an auto wash.
I should add I now wash my 997 in the garage on a hydraulic lift (so the wheels hang free and spin for detailed cleaning) with filtered water, music and a blow dry with a modified leaf blower- and the neighbors never know, in this water rationed desert.

You're kidding right? LOL. Ok if you're doing all of this, especially with filtered water then the idea of me taking my cars to the car wash is unthinkable.

Hand wash all the way. That's how I bond with my car. Well, used to.

I should report you to PSS (Porsche Social Services) for abuse. Hand wash only, with time you will develop a keen case of OCD and spend all your free time cleaning or thinking about detailing, lol enjoy your car.

The last time took a car through the machine was with my Brand new Honda Accord in 1982 when I was still in college. It was the only way to get the salt off in below freezing weather. As soon as I pulled out I had a head on collision. I never used a machine since on any car. And I agree with the rest, I really enjoy detailing the my p-car and actually look forward to it.

NO ON MACHINE.

If you are pressed for time just have a detailer come to your house or work and just do it for you...

wow you guys are still on the tire guide ones?

I go through the drive through no touch ones (without tyre guides)
never had a problem with any car's paint
better than having salt and snow all over the car
