Introduction: DirtyVegas 997S
I have lurked around this forum for a while but this is my first post. This is the best car I have owned so far. I like it better than the 996TT that I had a pleasure to drive on the weekends. The 997S is really on top of its game.
She is 08, with 11.5K miles, CPO. Key Options: 6 Speed, Chrono Sport, PSE, Nav, Alcantara Wheel & Seats, CF Interior Trim, Aero Kit. The car has a regular front end on for clearance purposes. I paid $68K before taxes at a local dealer. It was the cheapest CPO 08 997S among others with similar miles and less all the key options I needed at the time. In the end I may have paid a bit much given private sales, but to find all these options on a white CPO 997S with so little miles was worth it for me. She is my daily driver.
My first priority mods are: Nav-TV Sat, Ipod, and BT modules. Those are surprisingly quite pricey.
A few questions if I may:
What is the best way to clean / maintain an Alcantara steering wheel? The car is in a brand new shape, but the steering wheel Alcantara is showing signs of wear, not sure if the prior driver used driving gloves.
I love this N/A engine. It will not stop pulling. I already hit the rev limiter a few times. I hope it is nothing that I should be too concerned with?
What do you guys think about these stock 19 wheels? I havent made up my mind yet if I like them or not.
Any other suggestions for the first time Porsche owner?
Thank you,
Dirty

Congratulations. Great looking car. As for the price, you got what you wanted, the price was fair and inline in your market, and you're enjoying the car. That's all that matters once you drive it off the lot. I always wounder if the guys that spend their lives looking for that perfect car at the perfect price with all the high end options thrown in for free ever actually buy one. Enjoy your car and ignore all " I got my car with everything on it and only 8 miles on OD for free and it came with a lifetime warranty " posts.

I think I got the steering wheel restored to about 80%+. I used a fabric shaver, then a soft tooth brush and a vacum cleaner to brush it out and get all the dust of it. Then wiped it down with a damp cloth. Dried it with microfiber towel. Brushed it one more time and used the fabric shaver one more time. Unless looking at it inches away, the Alcantara on the steering wheel looks as nice as on the seats. Feels great too. Extremely happy, the steering wheel was the biggest downer for me in the entire car.
