997 battery cable issue
FYI. For anyone still under warranty.
Is your car hard to start after you've been driving for a while and you get back in and restart it?
There is a known issue with the 997 battery cable bring over crimped at the factory. This leads to a voltage drop from alternator to battery which eventually kills your battery and could lead to alternator damage.
My 2005 c2s was on it's third battery before I found out About this.
I know it's been discussed in here but it is a roughly $950 fix if you're out of warranty. The fix is to replace the cable. I heard that on a tiptronic it's actually more labor intensive.
Fwiw.

Wow! Can't say I've noticed anything. I have a new battery and do notice that p-cars have a more "stressed" sounding start than most cars. When I say stressed I don't mean it takes long to start but just that it sounds different than the japanese 6/8 cylinders I've owned. I assume it's because the flat 6 geometry requires more starter torque?

Mine was replaced under warranty about a year and a half ago. The symptom was that I would go to start the car and all I would get was a "click". From what I read it is a common issue with 06's.
