Help! Gateway 500 Question for iPod
I have used the search feature but I am still having trouble finding an answer....
I have a pre-owned 2007 CS2 with Bose and found that it had an iPod cable in the glovebox...after doing some research, it seems likely (how can I confirm?) that it is a Gateway 500 from Denison.
The issue I have is that no matter what I do, I can't get it to stop shuffling songs in my playlists. It is not set to random on the head unit...I turn off shuffle on the ipod itself. But after I connect the ipod and it starts playing, I notice the settings on my iPod have changed to SHUFFLE! Weird. I am using an older generation nano as I found that my iTouch will not charge through the cable in my glovebox.
What can I do to make it stop shuffling songs? Another weird part is that the display will sometimes show a song that is not currently playing. Sometimes it shows the proper song, sometimes not. I can't seem to understand why.
The shuffle is especially annoying as I plan on listening to audiobooks on longer trips and I don't want it shuffling through chapters!
Does anyone have some advice and/or a link to a user's manual that may help?
Thanks!!!!!

LOL - yep those quirks sound like the Dension unit.
You probably have an older firmware (version displays on iPods screen when first connected - or will be written to a thumb drive if you connect one).
The Dension box is usually installed in the front trunk near/with the CD changer or where it should be. If not there, it's likely stashed in your center stack console below the PCM and a PITA to get to...
Eric from bumperplugs.com is a major distributor for them and nice guy willing to help out as much as he can even if you didn't buy it new from from him (but maybe previous owner did?).
Good luck
