997 Cab vs Coupe Rear Space

Is it my imagination but does the Cab have slightly more headroom (with the roof up) because of the shape of the roof?

Good question. My C4S Cab seemed to have a bit more than a coupe as far as headroom, but the seats were more uncomfortable for the kids because they were perched forward a bit as compared to the coupe. I have a GT3 now, so no little passengers are possible and I can't guage the difference. I would say that any possible headroom gains are negated with the angle of the seat issue.

I own cab and have only sat in coupe rear once in showroom. Seems to me the coupe has more headroom because of the seat back angle. It looks closer to the glass but in fact the seat leans back more. The cab rear is fairly awkward becasue the passenger leans forward - very unnatural.

I don't think there is more headroom in the Cab, I think it's a function of the Cab rear seats leaning slightly forward, therefore your head is located a little further forward away from the rear window.

The coupe will have slightly less headroom due to the sunroof mechanism - it needs to slide under the roof line between the headliner. Yes, the Cabriolet does push the rears sets forward to accommodate the storage of the top and looks really uninviting, but small kids are probably more than happy to enjoy the ride.
