IPD Plenum Review 997.2

ok guysss got my IPD Plenum installed and finally got some seat time. Install wasnt bad from what my Indy guy said, and when I picked her up i was looking to see if I lost any power or throttle response like I did when I installed bypass pipes on my 996 while the ECU adjusts. Out of the Indy Shop quick WOT and all the normal power right there ( I was confident it would be ). I just have to say how impressed I am with the 997.2 S as far as how fast this car is, I literally geek when I get on it at times and im coming from a .1 S night and day difference. But in the .2 I thought 2nd gear was very close to my .1 S and all other gears werent even close especially 3 - 5 on the hwy. But im 110% sure 2nd gear is stronger now. After a 100 miles of the ECU adjusting I opened her up a few times in 1st and 2nd gear and theres no doubt the car is noticably faster and quicker. Also throttle response has increased slightly as well. My car is BONE STOCK im not one for dynos my butt dyno told me what I wanted to hear. The Plenum has raised the HP/Trq curve above the stock NO DOUBT. I love it. Ive been a huge fan of the Plenum since I put it in my 996, it made power then and on that car I had a K/N CAI and Fabspeed mufflers. My car now is stock and its a huge improvement. Kudos to IPD and Greg who was VERY helpful its a great product and would suggest it to anyone on the fence DO IT DO IT

thanks. So it replaces the whole black plastic plenum. Well at least I would feel like I was getting something for my money.

I've read multiple posts on the subject. Has anyone had any experience with a 997.1 4S? Seems to be different camps on the benefits.

Seems to me it's pretty much hands down it increases power/TQ for both 997.1 and 997.2. Looks like a solid investment.

During a recent shop visit, I discussed adding the IPD plenum during a round of upgrades; my understanding is that the EVOMs software package I already have does not allow for factoring in this unit, so install may have little current practical effect.

If others are aware of software packages which are written to incorporate the IPD unit, would be interested in info. Thank you.

997.2 IPD DFI Plenum

Thanks 996COBOVA,

We greatly appreciate all the appreciation. Glad you’re enjoying your new DFI Plenum. We have seriously been selling these DFI Plenums as fast as we can assemble them. We have heard nothing but unanimous thanks and praise from each and every customer.

The new DFI cars have proven to be quite the challenge for after market tuners. Power and torque gains are definitely harder to develop when compared with previous Porsche models. We have more time and energy invested into the IPD DFI Plenums than any other Plenum before. But we are happy to say that all of our efforts have paid off.

Just like all the “Non DFI” Porsches, the DFI Plenums deliver great power gains across both power curves. Since the IPD Plenum develops power through a superior and more efficient intake design it will help compliment any other mods as well as work all on its own.

I’ve attached some images to show how involved the new DFI Plenums truly are. Thanks again for all the enthusiasm and appreciation. Please feel free to give us a call or drop us a PM if there are any other questions or concerns.

Cheers,
IPD Greg

I was told the exact opposite by my Indy shop. He said that the EVOMS CAI/flash in conjunction with the IPD would produce some very appreciable gains.
