Inexpensive iPod hookup!
I just bought the Droid Roadster Portable Bluetooth for my iPhone, and I have to tell you, rarely has a device so exceeded my expectations. This thing works like a charm! And for only $99!
It's not only a great hands-free phone unit, but you can opt to use its built-in speaker phone, or have it broadcast through your car's speakers via FM. And that's what makes this thing so awesome -- because you can also listen to your iPhone's song playlist and streaming audio. My Porsche's radio gets almost no reception out where I live, but using this method I can listen to NPR's streaming Morning Edition on my way in, and Yankees baseball games on my way home (with MLB.COM's $14 app).
The Roadster clips to your visor and is rechargable through a power plug, but the battery lasts so long I've only had to charge it once. Every time you open the car door it automatically turns on ("DROIIIIIID!") and announces if the battery level is high, medium, or low. It automatically turns off when you leave the car. It advertises 20 hours usage per charge and 3 weeks standby.
I have a SIRIUS radio that transmits through the FM, too, so I have it on one station and the Roadster on another, and I can switch between them without any problems. I have yet to have any FM interference from other sources.
This is a great solution for 997.1's if you don't want to spend thousands on a hard-line hookup.
