It is done...2012 Porsche 911 Carerra Cabriolet - Black Edition
After much research and decision making, it was nice to finally pick up the vehicle this weekend.
I can honestly say that I am happier now that I have had it for 24 hours than I was before picking it up (at all levels...no post buyer's remorse).
First, the one thing that continues to delight me is the number of typical "options" that Porsche included in the base package. What I can tell you is that there are items included that don't even show in the standard package on Porsche's website (eg. NAV module, XM Satellite, and Bose Sound 12 speaker sound system).
Second, it is just a really beautiful car that is fun to drive. I don't necessarily mean out some back road where I could crank it up (I wouldn't yet as it only has 35 miles on it), but just the simple trips like going to the local bagel shop or weekend party with friends. Still getting used to the wind deflector though.
The most amusing part of the process was when I went in to drop off my check and pick it up, the meeting with "the man" (aka the business manager). There was really nothing else for him to do, but, have me sign some documents and give me the keys (they wanted me to finance with PFS). As a result, he began his pitch on the list of high margin add ons and services that "I may like".
After 15 minutes of my life that I can never recover, I ended up getting the full clear film "bra" (lots of new road construction in my area) and the tire and wheel protection warranty (prior experience has shown me that this pays off at least threefold based upon my Cayenne).
All in all, money well spent on a vehicle that I will enjoy on weekends (and the occasional spin into the office) for years to come.
Again, thanks to all for the insights. Will post pics soon. - Sprtan (#390 of 1911)

Sounds like a beautiful car and I think you are actually the first one here to get a 2012 car !!! Congrats .
BTW .. what does (390 out of 1911) mean ?

Porsche engraves a badge on the glove compartment door with the number of each Black Edition vehicle out of the 1911 made. My car is number 390.

Congrats and good luck - nice ride.
BTW, make sure the "dealer" uses a reputable installer for the bra. Since you are paying the "dealer" price, you should be able to have a say. (most dealers typically have a huge markup for this - which is why I went to the installer directly). Still a great decision for the protection.
Again, Congrats!

consider this --
it's your first Porsche and it's also the first 2012 on the forum and it even has some type of uniiqueness to it. Nice !!!!!
