Brought a new to me 2008 911CS and I'm interested in upgrading steering wheel......
Well I traded my 2008 Boxster RS60 for a 2008 911 Carrera S with only 5900miles on the speedo, the car is like brand new but my only issue I have is the same issue everybody has, the steering wheel is skinny. My issue is minor, but I enjoy a fatter wheel. Has anyone have any experience with getting there Carrera Red Leather Wheel redone to match the rest of interior? The color combo is Silver with Carrera Red inside, it is loaded with extended leather package and sport exhaust, only no Chrono. Swapped the sun visors for Alacantra to match roof, the carpet is black for that deviated look, overall the car is awesome! I ordered the LED tail lamps from Rottech, can't wait to get them so I can install them!!! Thanks for responding to any info on the steering wheel!!

Hey you have good taste. How do I know? because my 08 C2S is also Arctic Silver with Carrera red.
I'd think you can use a black wheel and it will look fine as well. Or look for some of the advertisers here that does custom steering wheel wraps.

Thanks Guy's!!.......
Steph280, sweet that we have the same car! Dallas Custom Steering Wheel did my sun visors and I must say Donald did a great f---ing job! I had them wrapped in matching alacantra, the issue with the steering wheel is that I would love to get the matching leather for it, I have called the three main steering wheel places and they tell me that in order to get exact match they would need to order a minimum of 2 yards that would make 16 steerings, so if any Carrera Red Leather guys would like to upgrade their steering wheels contact me or the vendors and maybe they will build it for us at a good price.
I will post pics soon!! Btw, thanks to Morris and Joe from Ray Catena Porsche, they were wonderful and offered me the car at an excellent price! Btw the way, the RS60 Boxster at the dealership was mine and the car is F---ing Mint!!!

Dallas did mine in Alcantara. Had it built up to 4 5/8". It was PERFECT! Had it 2 years and didn't show any wear, I was very happy with it. Highly recommended. Best bet to buy a core off ebay, sell the wrapped wheel and reinstall the stock wheel when you sell the car.

That sounds like an interesting way to go. So, you wouldn't need to buy an airbag, right? You would swap your airbag onto the wheels as you switch them around...

Exactly, you don't need an airbag. In fact, I convinced someone to sell me a core without an airbag for only $250. If you have a multi-function wheel, you buy one without the multi-function buttons and swap them into the wheel. I sold my wheel, but you might still find it in the classified section where I posted pics. I'll try to post up another here this weekend.
