997 C2S Pricing

997 C2S Pricing
Just wanted to get your thoughts on what you would expect to pay for a 2008 C2S with <30k Miles. Prices seem to fall in the mid 50's to low 60's from dealerships out here in SoCal, with private sellers more in the mid to low 50k range. Many of the ones at the dealerships are CPO'd which i prefer but they do tend to be priced at a premium due to their cost of CPOing the car. I purchased a 2008 997 non-s cpo'd last year and sold it after 8 months because i wanted the c2s. My question is, do the prices above for a C2S seem fair and in line with what C2S owners have paid that you know of, and is the CPO worth the extra cash it adds on. As i said, my 2008 997 had it but the car had zero issues in 8 months and it seemed a bit unnecessary all things considered. Thanks, any input is appreciated,

I think those prices seem in line. Remember it's Porsche season and dealer know this. Also, it seems that the "right" cars are sometimes hard to find (black/black, Gray/Black, right options, etc.) and the dealers in my area seem to ask more for these cars.
If you are patient, you will probsably get a better deal when the new body comes out in the next 6 months or so.
As to CPO, it was and is worth it to me. Some will say these cars are bullet-proof others will say get CPO so you don't have to worry. It really depends on your threshold for risk-transfer.

Jacked997,
Where are you finding 08 C2S's for mid 50's to low 60's with less than 30k miles? I've been looking for two months and 08's are going for high 60's to low 70's. Cheapest 06 C2S I saw with 1400 miles white/black sold for $48K in one hour. Most 06's are going for $50K to $55K, 07's from mid 50's to mid 60's. I search Cars, Ebay and Autotrader everyday but not seeing what your seeing. Help me out if your finding something different. I'm even starting to look at 09's with PDK for $65. Good luck.

These are the prices i have gathered while at Circle Porsche in long beach, Pacific Porsche in Torrance, and CarMax actually had a few that were priced very competitively. Something about buying a porsche from carmax doesnt sit well with me, but check them out if your comfortable with buying from them. Thanks for the responses,

Personally, I don't think an 08 is the best choice. If you're at that level, you are better off to reach for an 09 for the extra money. LED running lights and the DFI engine are big pluses if you're going to pay that much money. Also, as suggested, wait for the 991, so you can take advantage of a .2 at a lower price.

That sounds a lot more reasonable than OP's $55-60K for low mileage 08 C2S. Congrats and post-pics if you haven't already.

You did very well with that purchase especially considering you bought it last year. I am still up in the air as to whether the CPO is a must have for me, as i am familiar with a local reputable porsche mechanic which gives me peace of mind. Have you had any issues since you bought it?...any regrets in retrospect as far as not getting a CPO'd car?
