Tampa paint shop
Anyone have any insight on Extreme Motorcar or other paint shops in Tampa? I'm getting a 997 Carrera that has GT3 aero front bumper that needs some paintwork done to the lower lip courtesy of drive ways, speed bumps, etc...thanks!

I actually went over to Bert Smith (in St. Pete) for one of their PCA sponsored tech seminars and they gave us a tour of the body shop. Based on the knowledge of the guys doing the tour, and the equipment they had onsite I would deffinitly recomend them to anyone who does not have a trusted body shop in mind.
They are most likely not going to be the cheapest option, but for a job like that how much more could it possibly be...

Extreme Motorcar quoted $350 to do the lower lip, $600 to do the entire front bumper. I'm sure they do great work, but the bumper, particularly the lower lip, will get inevitably scratched up again, so not looking for museum quality paint work...where is Gene Perez? Any other recommendations?

E-mail me at JP9855@aol.com . I have a shop that can do it for you for less. He does great quality work too.

Gene Perez is the best....I've had work done there and it was always flawless.
Gene Perez is just north of the airport on Anderson.

Gene's son David runs the shop near the airport & Gene runs the original shop on Florida Ave. It's located where Florida Ave. is still one way north bound only. A block or 2 later it turns back into 2-way traffic. Anytime insurance is paying I use Gene Perez & I have been doing so for 35+ years. Their work is better then new. If I'm paying out of my own pocket I'll use Willie @ Airport Body Shop, Inc. in Drew Park. Willie fixed my black Land Rover twice over the last 2 years & you will never tell were the work was done.

Just wanted to share that I had a great experience at Premier Auto Touch-up located at 3808 East MLK Blvd. Jason was a pleasure to work with and the chin spoiler came out looking like it never hit a curb. Nice clear coat and you can't beat the price...I'm lowered 1.5 inches and wearing a GT3 bumper, so I'll be going back for probably several more touch-ups down the road!
