Vancouver Show and Shine
The local PCA club in Vancouver held their annual Show and Ride today to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis society. Unfortunately the weather didn't completely cooperate and only ~ 70 cars showed up for the static display which was followed by a spirited drive up one of the local mountains. A variety of Porsches were in attendance from early 356s to late model GT3 RS', unfortunately no Carrera GTs. We all met in one of the upper level parking lot for pics and I have included a few, and yes that white stuff in the pictures is snow. All in all a great day with some nice P-cars.

My pleasure, this was the first event I've been to since getting my car a few months ago. The Porsche community in the lower mainland of BC seems pretty vibrant, they have some sort of event going on most weekends in the summer.

Yes, I did see that car. It was pretty amazing, I can't believe it is street legal especially with that exhaust system. I assume the car sees mostly track duty. I was in the bone stock artic silver 997C2, which car were you driving.

I was in Vancouver last March, could not believe how many 997's I saw. I saw one exactly like mine except it was a C2S with all black wheels.

I wasn't in the show, tough to do with two young kids.
I am good friends with the owner of the GT3, it is a converted street legal GT3, all lights are working, however due to the fact that it has no cats and won't pass air care. It has a Sharkwerks 3.9 and just installed a full carbon fiber RSR kit (roof, hood, front and rear fenders, bumpers and both doors. He also owns a 997 GT3 Cup, and this car is faster.
He does use it for track, and will drive it on the street from time to time.

I completely understand, parental duties typically trump all other activities. Your friend has a pretty cool car, I would also like to have a track-dedicated car, but that will have to wait. In the meantime, I hope to get out to some of the local DE events.

I was in Vancouver 2 weeks ago visiting my daughter (bought her an '04 mazda 3 while I was there)and was amazed at the number of high end cars being driven around. Porsche's were everywhere, and Ferrari's, Masseratti's and Lambo's could be seen every day. Do people there just drive their exotics more in Vancouver or are these cars their second or third vehicles?
Bythe way, these folks are nuts with Hockey!!

I was in Toronto last week and hardly saw any high end cars. In comparison at least to other Canadian cities I think there is way more high end cars here in Vancouver and they get driven regularly, especially once the weather started to get a little nicer. For instance I was out for a drive the other night and there was a P-car either in front or behind me for most of my drive. If you like exotic cars, it sure is a great place to live.
And yes, the hockey fans here are possessed, with what I don't know.
