First track day at HHR. What a blast.

Finally got the 911 to the track. First time on this track for me. Second time on a track at all. Last time in a spec miata. The 911 is bone stock with Hankook V12's. About 105 degrees F outside. The BMW is stock except for brakes, rims, and tires (Dunlops). Thanks Snort!

how did the engine temp handle 105 ambient and how did the hankooks hold up? i think many of us have been waiting to get some reviews on those from the track...

I only have about 500 miles on the tires. They are slightly "greasy". That is probably expected from new tires that have that much rubber on them. I thought for a nice riding street tire, they did remarkably well on the track. They broke loose gradually and gave me fair warning of impending *** over tea kettle! The water temp stayed at exactly 175 all during the 20-30 minute sessions. The oil temp never got above 275. I can't wait to get to the track in some 75 degree weather (winter for us) and feel the difference in performance. The BMW had a Dunlop Z1's on it. They kept their grip a bit longer, but not by much. I would buy the Hankooks again. They are a nice balance of quality, price, and performance.

To answer all questions. I was in the 911 out front. Harris Hill is in San Marcos TX just north of San Antonio. It was a blast! Not quite as smooth as MSR in Cresson. But still a nice track.
