The biggest wheel spacers?
Hi,
I am new here and don't know if this question has already discussed, sorry if I did not find the threat.
On my Carrera S 997 (2005) what is the largest spacers I can use with stock wheels, and what brand should I use?
Thanks

I have H&R 7mm on front and 15mm on the rear. I have 'lobsters' w/ 235's on front & 295's on back and they're flush w/ the lip.
Remember to add longer bolts. Five per wheel as you will no longer use the 'stock' security bolts.

i ran H&R 7 front and 15 rear spacers on OEM Lobster wheels. The 15mm rears were spot on, you might be able to squeeze another 1mm, maybe 2 if you have some camber in the car, but 15 was damn perfect.
the 7mm fronts however I disagree with them being flush. Far from it in my opinion. I was going to try 10mm, but a friend is sending me 13mm ones off his 996 C4S which he said worked fine for him. But I can't say first hand if they will cause any issues or not. But I found 7mm to be conservative, albeit the 7mm also did not rub at all (nor did the 15's).
My goal was to have the wheels look like the GT3 oem wheels (which are really pushed to the fender edge) and while the 15mm rear did the trick, the 7mm front did not.
That said if you buy something larger than 7mm front spacers and you have rubbing issues, don't blame me.

I put 5mm all around on my wide body C4S on TurboII wheels (51et on rear). Looks perfect to me. I don't want my wheels extending out to the bottom of the lip. Just inside the fender the lip. 5mm OEM pushes the wheels 'out into the light' enough that it improves the look without altering the handling. You can't really just add spacers without considering the offset of the wheel your hoping to push out.
Just my opinion of course but also after discussions with my technician with a Vancouver Tuner Shop.

this is important to take into consideration. spacers are essentially just subtracting from the offset number of the wheel. So a 5mm spacer on a 997 will have a unique affect on any wheel that doesn't have the same width and offset as another.

I sell 7, 15, and 18. 18mm is the biggest you can go without buying adapters. I would not go wider anyway unless you are trying to fix offsets that are not correct.
