- Carrera to have 350 HP, share 3.4 liter engine with Boxster S
- 2 transmissions: 7-speed manual and 7-speed PDK

- 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) wider, 4 inches (10.2 com) longer wheelbase
- longer wheel base to accommodate HYBRID drivetrain in 2016 mid-cycle refresh
- 12-15% improved fuel efficiency (European cycle)
- electronic parking brake
- full-length sunroof
- 19-inch wheels standard on Carrera, 20-inch on Carrera S (20-inchers optional on Carrera)
- Nürburgring lap time: 8:04 for 991, 7:50 for 991 S. "Best setup" in 7:37.

Don't think I like the new sunroof. New intake is cool and finally the way it should've been from the start.

WOW at that last video!
You can basically see what the rear tailights will look like at night as the guy breaks inside the tunnel. Very cool. The car sounds great. The rear wing is MASSIVE! I think I prefer the subtlety of my 997's rear spoiler, but I'm sure the 991's will be functionally superior by multiples.

at 2:32 mark, u can see the rear tail come up.. (haven't decided if i like it or not..lol)
and at 3:43 mark, u can see the brake lights... i like it ! and i really like the rear lights above !
btw, i thought i was watching a 70's movie due to the soundtrack..

I like it - it's a Porsche, what's not to like. On the other hand, the 2+" extra width, and the 4" extra in the wheelbase confirms what I was told a month or so ago by someone well connected in the business. To whit, the 911 is becoming Porsche's "Grand Touring" car, and their real, true, honest to gosh 'sports car' will become the Cayman.
At this point, I'm glad I bought a 997.. I may change my mind after I see one.. or maybe not.
