where is the evaporator supposed to drain?
With the heat and humidity today I see water dripping out from under my 2009 C2 at numerous seams in the under-trays. Is this normal? Does the evaporator drain tube terminate above the trays and the water just find any low spot that it can?
Or should there be a tube sticking out that I'm not seeing?
I collected some in a shot glass ... it is not coolant (whew!), just water.

Nothing to worry about
Ken,
I noticed the same thing about 2 weeks ago so I jacked the car up and removed the pan where the water was coming from. Once I got it off, I was able to clearly see what looked like the drain for the evaporator. So to answer your first question, yes the evaporator tube ends above the pan and it's located a little on the passenger side right behind the front wheels.
I would just add, however to check your coolant level just in case since the coolant runs to and from the radiator in that general vicinity. In my case, the amount of water was more than I'm used to seeing dripping from the evaporator but once I realized my coolant level was good, I realized it was just condensation.

+1. Yesterday I had a small puddle of water in about the same place. Freaked me out initially and I checked to make sure it was not coolant, and sure enough just water. I then dug around in the owner's manual and the default for the air conditioner compressor is on (at least when above 3 C), so I learned you have to hit the Eco button to turn it off.

Guys -I just noticed my passenger footwell area is soaked under the carpet (the foam pads), noticed this while removing my bose subwoofer for some new trim. I noticed the AC drain tube is in tact, but it terminates under the car with a grommet attached. There is noting on the other end....however after looking at PET I noticed they show a J-shape "connecting piece" (part #996 573 797 02), which I apparently don't have connected..Has anyone else noticed they have this connecting piece? Is it possible that if mine fell off that the force of driving could allow water to accumulate there? I did notice the drains under my cowl area were blocked up a couple months ago, I cleaned them out - so it's possible it's still wet from water finding it's way into the cabin??

My condensation puddles are under the middle of the car as well. It's a good thing that you caught the soaked carpet before it started mildewing and reeking.
