Sanctioned lifting points under a 997
Are there any locations under a 997.2 where it is safe to lift temporarily while positioning jackstands under the official jacking points? My C6 Z06 had pads built into the subframes where it was recommended to lift. You could then add jackstands under the perimeter frame jacking points.

I've studied the cutaway views of the rear suspension and it looks like the pads that the factory uses to set ride height have a direct load path to the body. They are at the inboard end of the link that controls toe-in and near the sway bar anchor. The rig I made for my Z06 should work (combined with a low-profile long-reach floor jack).
If it ever cools off, I'll try the system and post some photos.

Ken,
Here's two different ways. I've personally used the second method several times w/o incident. I have read some opinions that, if I remember correctly, the first method may stress the motor mounts and cause them to fail. If you want some more info, you can search this forum or Rennlist. Good luck.
