Although "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and one's interpretation of how something looks to them is an inconsequential belief, I do think that the 997.1 and 997.2 versions of the 911 are much more interesting and true to the "look of a 911". The spy pics make the coupe look more generic; and the rear smacks of Aston Martin. From what I can deduce, the front intake openings may look cool, but my initial impression was of a late model BMW--somewhat fussy and not well integrated.
That my 997.1 still looks spectacular to me is a testament that it was penned correctly and has stood the test of time in both design and in having the ability for being instantly recognized as a Porsche 911.
Thanks for reading.

Tail lights DB9 like. Difficult to see, but seems engine compartment has a split hood...can open lower half and then a way to open upper half.

In my opinion, the 991 is looking more like a panamera where the rear passenger section was removed and the trunk attached to the front cabin![Confused](https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
This is what they did in the cayenne, and now, they are doing it with the 911.
Its an upgrade with the cayenne, but I do not want a panamera, I want a 911.
I want it to have a semblance with a 356 or early 911. That is why porsche has remained the only car that has remained true to its origin. Not liking where this is going.
They corrected the deviation they made in the 996 with the 997. Now, they are again in that direction.

I think the profile is better than the 997 which has always looked great from every angle BUT the profile. 997 nose and rear end hand out too far and look awkward. Not crazy about the rear lights on the 991 from what i can see though. Thoughts on profile comparison?
