Question Porsche 911 Aero kit Vs. the original automatic spoiler

Planning to buy a new Porsche 911 GTS, but don't know if to upgrade the rear to the Aero Kit. I like the original automatic spoiler the Porsche comes with, but the aero kit looks pretty sweet too. Does anyone know if you upgrade the aero kit on the automatic spoiler, if the aero kit lifts up too. Give me your thoughts. And suggestions.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't, but I don't own one to be sure. The configuration doesn't look feasible for an automatic lift to be honest.

Aerokit is a fixed spoiler. The GTS looks so much better with it. IMO. but I'm not sure why they give you the spoiler from the 2005-2008, would look at better with the 09+ GT3 spoiler. I assume Porsche still have plenty of old spoilers to give out.

The GT car spoilers are fixed, as are most of the after market aero kits. If you like them...get one. Personally, I steer away from them. For me, if you buy a GT3, you should look like a GT3. If you buy a GTS, be happy with it's stock look...they are well thought out from an aesthetic perspective. That car doesn't need a spoiler to be sharp...it just is.
I would love a GT3, but I wouldn't muck up my car to try to pretend to own one...
One of these days I may buy one...that would be great. In the mean time, I love my C2S as a C2S...

Isringhausen Porsche has a used (I believe~800 miles) silver GTS with the Aero kit. Saw it last weekend; looks superb.

Thanks Guys for all the great information and tips. The thing is, I like that you can press a button on the PSM Panel and the spoiler raises. With the aero kit, you can't do that. I like having an automatic spoiler but on a GTS, I think the aero kit suits it better. Tell me what you think Any great colours for a GTS? (exterior paint)

I'm not a fan of the AeroKit. Not sure what it is about it, just doesn't look good to me. Maybe it just reminds me too much of the 996.

In terms of colors, my favorite is Platinum Silver (which is why I bought one). I've seen some Red GTSs that look superb with the black wheels and trim pieces. The Aqua Blue is also a looker. Haven't seen a yellow or macadamia one, but something tells me those would be sharp in person. And then there's always PTS. The Mexico Blue Cab that Isringhausen is ordering should be stunning.

I personally am a fan of the Aerokit. Not sure how it looks on the wider hips. I have seen it on the narrow bodies and I love it. In fact that's one thing I Definitely want when I pick up mine.

I love the whole aero kit in general i think it gives it a much sportier look. If you like the classic timeless look go without it.

I disagree, I associate Porsche's with crazy looking aerokit's. When I was growing up, my dad's friend's would come over with their 993 turbo's with the huge whale tails and crazy body kits. Growing up as a little boy that is how I saw Porsche's, crazy looking racing cars for the street. Real GT3 goes for 80's in the used market, so I can afford one but I don't need it. I don't live at the track, do plan to go a few times a year and don't benefit having a GT3. I have two little boys that enjoy riding in it. I love that I can have a nice soft ride when I want. Nothing poser about imitating a racy look. IMO the one's w/o it is just plain and boring (flame suit on).

it's all personal taste. some people like the fixed wing aero kit. I think it looks good but i prefer the standard rear. to me, the 911 is a sleeker toned-down car, so I prefer the cleaner lines. but to each his own

Exactly the reason why I fell in love with 911's. And exactly why I had to get a wing after I got mine. Every time I see my wing in my mirrors, I feel I got exactly what I wanted.

I'm not into spoilers.....I believe they do what they say.....spoil the look of the car.

Hahaa! Thats right! You think it would look right to put a aero kit on a cabrio? Maybe it looks a bit too much?
