Arrow X51 throttle body, intake manifolds, plenum, any difference?

Hi there

My car is a 997.1 C2S manual

At the moment I have on my car:-

- PSE
- X51 exhaust manifolds
- X51 centre radiator kit
- X51 undertray

I am now considering doing the other parts of the kit which Porsche inform me give the majority of the power hike which is the:-

- X51 throttle body (larger than standard)
- X51 plenum (required to fit throttle body)
- X51 Intake air distributors (intake manifolds)
- Electronic throttle adjuster (is this different to standard?)

Detailed images & pricing:-

1B Intake air distributor 2x 997 110 115 40 457.18 (-10%) each
1C Rubber sleeve 2x 997 110 685 40 20.70 (-10%) each
1D Hose clamps 4x 999 512 694 00 3.42 (-10%) each
1E Distributor pipe 1x 997 110 416 40 489.71 (-10%)
B Seal 6x 997 110 247 00 4.82 (-10%) each

throttle body:-

1G Electronic throttle adjuster 1x 997 605 116 0 189.50 (-10%)
B Seal 1x 997 110 319 40 12.08 (-10%)
All prices plus VAT

Porsche say it is fine to run without remapping as the DME will adjust, but they shall look into to seeing if they can get the DME map as it may allow for greater gains.

My questions are:-

1. Has anyone here done this? If so did you feel good gains?
2. Can I go with just the X51 throttle body and plenum for now?
3. How are the X51 intake manifolds different to the regular ones?
4. Is the electronic throttle adjuster required or can I use the one from my current throttle body, as in are they the same part?

My thoughts are I can do just the throttle body and plenum as this is an easy DIY job to do myself and the cost is not too high. Then I can re-dyno the car and see what improvement the X51 plenum and X51 throttle body give.

Then if the improvements are small, I can look into doing the intake manifolds but this looks a big job and certainly not a DIY in the driveway and they are quite expensive.

So can I do just plenum and throttle body with intake manifolds at a later date?

Is the electronic throttle adjuster the same as the one I already have on my current throttle body, so I could just re-use my current one?

Hi there

Does any know if the air intake manifolds from the X51 kit where they connect to the plenum are a different size or same size?

If they are same size it will mean I can just fit the throttle body and plenum for now but if the size is different then I need to do all at once. Was wondering if anyone knows?

Pretty sure the X51 plenum will only work with the x51 manifolds and T-body.

Will the X51 throttle body fit directly on a 997.1 C2S ? It currently has a cargraphic intake plenum as well as complete cargraphic exhaust
Is it worth it ?
