Parking Porsches at the local mall
Yesterday I chased a pack of kids away from a red turbo cab parked at the local mall. They were attempting to pry the Porsche emblem off of the hood. These kids were on a day camp trip to the mall, and their counselors were very busy texting, while waiting for the camp bus.
If you are the owner of a red turbo cab parked at the Garden State Mall yesterday in Paramus, NJ, you owe me a beer!
The guy parking a Porsche in the general parking lot of a mall is braver than I am!

Little bastards should have been held accountable. A few years ago, someone caught 3 kids taking the grille emblems off cars (one of them mine) and alerted mall security. The held them for the police and although they didn't do jail time, the court made them pay for the damage the did to the cars. Got lucky, I guess.
You did the best thing under the circumstances. Sometimes finding mall security is impossible. I think I would have said something to the counselors, like: can I have your names and who you work for? I need to file a police report for the vandalism.

At least it was just the emblems, had my GT3RS parked at work (nice office building on Georgia with cameras everywhere) someone had keyed their initials into my driver side door and then had scratched two of the decals.
Pretty sure I didn't **** anyone off to do that to my car since I usually get to work around 6 am and there's not a single car on the road at that time.

Unfortunately, we live in a society that fosters envy. Just look at the recent debate to have the "rich" "pay their fair share". Seems that the politicians look to foster this kind of sentiment. Is it any wonder that people feel free to vandalize the property of others? Sorry for going off on a tangent.
Kudos to the OP for looking out for a fellow owner!

Somebody scratched or keyed my 997.1 before. Made a big V shape mark in the fender. Our parking garage at work has cameras in them.
They allowed me to view it, guess what? I parked in a blind spot. Can't see anything.
My suggestion to all, do not park near a camera, most likely the angle would not allow viewing of the car. Park farther away.
I hardly bring my Pcar to work anymore.

smart countries like Swiss close their borders, watch closely balance between number of local population and number of available jobs, do not give up to 'global trade' crap and maintain local resources and local production so all different layers of local population are involved into some sort of production and do participate in job market.
as soon as common sense starts getting replaced by populist propaganda and local jobs go overseas as it is 'cheaper' for corporations you start creating unemployment, kids of blue collar hard working people go into gangs, education level drops to nothing and you get ghettos, lumpens and total disaster.
Too bad we all live in the world driven solely by corporate profits and quaterly statements and its false 'success' totally substituted what is critical for any country to survive. which is - competitive labor force and a job market with demand for new workers.
sooner or later it will backfire really bad.
