Was it straight forward with zero mods? I know that the Walmart Maxx Battery is alittle cheaper, but none of the Walmarts by me have them in stock and if they do it's a 1yo Battery. Pep Boys has the Bosch one in stock with fresh dates, the Moll died after 2 1/2 years later and dealership states that I don't have enough miles on the car and that Porsche is looking into every Battery Warranty issue to check mileage. Bastards!!! Again, you spend big $$$$$ on a car and you get a cheap *** battery!!! Nice.

Well I replaced the crappy Moll Battery today with a Bosch Battery from PepBoys and it fit like a glove, my only issue I see is those of you guys that used the forth hole, did you just use the same screw and then added a nut and called it a day? Is that ok with vibrations? Am I being nervous nelly?

Actually, I think it's lead-acid, not cheap-***. No matter though. They all respond poorly to being undercharged, even the platinum-buttock models.

If you haven't turned at least twenty thousand miles in that four years, I don't see how the battery could survive unless you use an off-board maintenance charger to mimic the effect of those miles.

I agree Gary, but I still think that Porsche should cover your battery during your warranty period or at least prorate it.

I was told, by the dealer, that you must have 1,000 miles per month to be eligible for warranty coverage.

I also had battery issues in the last few days. Porsche only warranties their batteries if the car is driven 6K miles per year. I've also heard they will honor the warranty if you have and use a battery maintainer. I bought the later which has helped the cranking speed and as I only drive the car 3-4K per year I'll keep it on the battery maintainer.
