Gundo Hack today (with removal and re-install)

I talked to them and they do...but he didn't have any 997.2's in stock so you would have to.
- Take of your mufflers
- Send them to FD
- FD will make the update
- FD will send back
- Put the new updated mufflers back on
This seemed like a big hassle, at least a week or more of down time, lots of shipping cost.
Still trying to find a one stop show to do this in LA.

He does but I don't think he has any mufflers in stock for exchange. You'll have to send yours in. Probably only a 2-3 day turn-around unless you want ceramic coating. You'll need to get rid of the secondary muffler to get proper enhancement of your sound. I believe he charges $265 for the standard by-pass. The quality is premium and he uses 1.75" connection tube.

Yes...any muffler shop will do it but the weld quality may not be to your liking. Samples below:

While this is true, very few have the specialized stainless-only welding equipment, experience, and materials to do an all-stainless weld that won't rust out and fail. All-stainless welding is quite tough to get right. Most shops use pipe other than proper T-304 stainless and often use brazing instead of welding since it is much cheaper and much easier to do. If you aren't concerned with rusting, cracking, and eventual failure... sure... go get some random shop to do it.
