Hateration - Vandalised 2X Already!

Doh....
I'm not discussing the cars...i speaking about the ability to join any one of these brands of ownership.
And the attitude that someone is elite because they can buy a porsche lead IMO to vandalism to some degree.
If you can buy an M3 or c63 you can buy a porsche. We are all in the same boat and make choices based on what appeals to us.
So who cares if they rant and rave. Thats what they like..so be it. Doesn't make you any smarter or better car buyer.

And I really don't think porsche owners are talking down to BMW owners on this forum.

OP, come teach over at Gonzaga everyone is really respectful(except when I was there for orientation and when I got there a chick parked in front of me backed into me and took off lol) but no vandalism that I have heard of. Im a student not a professor though, but there are both professors and wealthy students who dont have issues. It probably is directly related to the fact you drive a P-car. When I was at BSU my evo got vandalised for crying out loud.
But you are in Seattle, and I cant say im suprised by this happening to you, like others have mentioned with more hatred towards people of success now days instead of looking at those people as motivation to reach the same success. Very different times...nothing but excuses and demands.
As far as the other discussion goes, ill just leave it at I appreciate all german vehicles brands because they produce the best cars period in all aspects (possibly a little bias because im german lol)

I believe I addressed my original topic, but not the new topic you introduced. Here you go:
- Porsche is generally more expensive than BMW, so it conveys higher status. Whether that's a positive, negative, or neutral depends on the person. For me, it's a net negative, but not a dealbreaker.
- Whether Porsche is "elite" is relative. In a working class community, probably yes. In the better parts of LA, no. But certainly never in the same category as exotics like Ferrari.
- In this forum, I haven't noticed anyone ragging on BMWs, and many people praise them. For that matter, I don't recall people attacking Porsches in the BMW forums either (maybe they know that would be a losing proposition ). Their attacks seem to be directed mostly at each other and cars which are direct rivals.
- I don't put one group of car owners "above" another. People get what they can afford and like.
- I don't think vandalism against Porsches has much, if anything, to do with attitudes of Porsche drivers. These cars are relatively expensive and everyone knows it, hence the cars and their drivers can be targets of animosity, especially in this economy.
Did I cover everything?

Aside from my first car (Saab), all of my cars have been German. I'm a big fan of German engineering, and not just limited to cars. IMO, Germans have a combination of rigor, passion, and creative innovation which is fairly unique.

I live in Seattle as well, our poor old cayenne has been targeted 3 times since we bought it in May of this year.
couple nice deep key scratches on hood and one on passenger door.
this town is full of super passive-agressive lunatics. lol
