This is getting a little out of control. I have had the car for less than a month and it had been targeted twice already.

First time was about a week and a half ago and it happened at the staff garage of the University campus. I left the sunroof cracked open a sliver when I parked my car. When I returned later that night, I found a cigarette butt on the driver side carpet. I examined the interior carefully and couldn't find any serious damages.

Then, today, I was looking at the engine compartment lid and noticed something odd about the 4S. I looked closer to find that the tail of the S had been snapped off. There was no discernable chips or paint damage at this point, thankfully.

People surely do not have any more respect for personal property any more........

 

It appears that you are being targeted because you drive a Porsche. The current 'class warfare' politics is the root cause of the increase in these acts. It used to be that US citizens admired success and used open opportunity and hard work to get there. Unfortunately, as in Europe where vandalism is rampant, many people resent success. A sad state of affairs.

I suggest you inquire about camera surveillance tapes where you park and/or park where this does not happen or can be caught. Good luck!

 

Ouch! So sorry to hear about *******s messing with your car! I am saddened to hear that there are people in the "nice progressive Northwest" that are still just big haters. So maddening... it is so depressing that you can't enjoy something you worked so hard for without some ******* trying to ruin your day.

That S somtimes breaks off when you wash the car. My hand car wash guy clipped my S where it ends the long part. Maybe it wasent some d-bag

 

Let's hope that's the cause, but the cigarette butt was unforgivable.......

 

Wow, people suck! People should really reanalyze their direction in life instead of pulling these random acts of vandalism. Are there cameras anywhere that might have caught this?

 

Washington state university campuses must be extremely 'liberal' and therefore suffer from the 'envy syndrome'. Maybe it was just 'fair' to give up or share your 'S'. (lol).

They're easy and inexpensive to replace.

 

If you are going to park there all day, it might be worth the hassle to cover the car with a car cover.

 

You are lucky you didn't get a key job! an "S" is a $30 or so replacement cost. I think we all have dealt with similar situations.Part of the Porsche game.

Ya i always worry someone will throw a butt threw the tilt roof i always close it. Lucky it didnt burn the seat. That little S is pretty expensive to me 30bux for a single letter.

 

Wow, that really sucks. I've had that same fear leaving my sunroof cracked open. I'll generally only leave it on the tilt setting if I'm in a really nice area, otherwise it's on lockdown.

Adias is right on the money. As long as POTUS keeps chirping about the wealthy not paying "their fare share" those with an entitlement mentality will be envious and will resort to vandalism as opposed to working hard to achieve success.

 

Interestingly, someone gave me negative points posting this anonymous (coward) comment - "Nice going - taking what could be a random act of a ******bag and trying to politicize it. Typical." As if we live in a bubble outside the political world...

I'm scared to think of what I would do if I caught someone doing something like that to my property. I know it's only a car... but it's not really is it? To me it represents years of hard work, sacrifices, wise choices and a little bit of luck.
