Roadtrip: Reno to Texas w/pics!

I just want to take a moment and thank everyone that contributed their recommendations on my road trip from the dealership in Reno to my garage in Texas. The trip was outstanding because of the car I got to drive and the route traveled. Images below are just a sample of what I got to experience from the high desert of NV, red rocks of Moab, colors of Telluride and the "speed" in eastern NM.

Highlights included seeing the exploding Aspen trees of Colorado at 10,000 feet while ripping up the mountain byway between Moab and Albuquerque, as well as testing the "upper range" of the rpm gauge in NM while a BMW bike was fast on my tale...must have assumed I had a cloaking device by Mr. Valentine, which indeed, saved the day a few times...

Many thanks to all!!! Now safely tucked in the garage, just awaiting a weekend off to stretch the legs...

I jealous. Can't wait to do another trip like that. Glad you had a great time. Enjoy the Porsche. At 1 year now, it still makes me grin every time I get in it. Beautiful ride BTW!

I am extremely jealous. I could not think of a better trip - new C4S and mountains (more importantly, the time to do it).

Congrats.

Ahhh...the storm. Yep, indeed, I got lucky and missed any snow. But....even if it had snowed, I had AWD,

The trip was modified a bit by time/route because there was way more construction then I ever anticipated. SLC freeway system is a MESS! I feel for those who have to do that commute every day.

Basically I went from Reno - SLC - Price - Moab - Telluride - Shiprock - Gallup - Albuquerque - Santa Rosa - Clovis - Lubbuck - Abilene - Stephenville = 3 days, ~ 2,000 miles, no tickets...
