It rains.... The bottom of my doors is all wet (997.1 C4S)
I had not driven much my car under the rain or if I did, I never realized that the bottom part of the doors gets really wet on my 2006 C4S.
The section I am talking about is the plushy/furry part at the very bottom of the door, that you can feel when seating inside the car, opening the door and passing your hand underneath it. This is surprising because the rain was not even strong and the road was just wet.
Any body else have had the same issue? How did you solve it?
Thanks
Yves

Ok, I checked the doors and here is what I found:
1) Passenger door is ok, no humidity at all. All plugs are in place with the exception of the first rubber plug near the hinges, which is missing.
2) Driver door: very wet at the bottom. All rubber plugs at the bottom (4 of them) are in place. However, I noticed that this door has been disassembled in the past and something inside may not have been re-installed correctly. I think I will have to open it again to see what was poorly put back together.
Any pointers to door panel removal will be welcome as well.
I checked both rubber gaskets and they seem fine. I can see lots of water drops and puddles on the door sill, though.

I got the same issue. I discovered it few weeks ago. Once it got wet only on passenger side. I couldnt really come up with explanation why it will happen. I'll look at it bit closer and see what i can find. Thanks for advices.

Doors usually have a liner that is sealed to the metal door (think of a vinyl shower curtain), that keep the water that gets in (via the window glass, etc) on the exterior and not in contact with the car interior trim. When you work on the electro-mechanical components in the door, one usually has to pull up that seal. Replacing that seal is critical to keeping the water out as the water that runs down the window glass of the door window, will drip in and if the seal isn't there, will drip onto the door trim... and that may be what is happening.

That is correct. I removed the door panel last night, and verified that the inside of the door is dry. It is and it is protected. I also took advantage of this to re-install some of the clips that were not properly seating. Now the door panel fits tighter to the door.
Thus, the water comes from the door sill, as the rubber gaskets are not tight enough to prevent splashes and drizzles to come into the cabin. I'll have to install a little rubber shim to lift them a little bit more and perhaps treat them with 303. Passenger side is fine and I assume that the driver door no longer close as tight as the passenger door, causing the outside water to get in.
