A long time coming
A picture of my first Porsche (at least it said that on the side!). And after a very long absence, a picure of my more recent baby. I have been watching posts for quite some time now so as a new owner it is good to actually post a picture of my 2009 S.

Congratulations on your new car! Porsche cars do get into your blood. Some only see a car, others see a dream. We are very fortunate to be able to realize our dreams and have the time to enjoy it.

These days, when I'm passing them on the track, they all seem like the real thing. They certainly are Porsches in that final test because a whole lot of them are still running forty years later and still lighting up race tracks. In the twisty bits, they'd be a lot of work to pass for even a current S type like ours.
Love that green on tan combination. Beautiful car.

When I was a kid my dad's buddy used to race his 914-6. We used to go watch him and I loved it. After he had annihilated all the competition they wouldn't let him race it without cutting it up and making a full blown track car so he retired it. I shoul check with him and see if he still has it.

Yup. I fell in love with the color. My wife (who is sitting in the car in the picture) bought it for me so I would stop saying I wanted one. I also own a 2004 Maserati Spyder - much different car but still fun to drive - so driving is always fun now even when I have to endure the mess of traffic we have here in the DC area.

Skyking, we are indeed fortunate to own these fine automobiles. Especially in a time when a lot of people are unemployed.

say amen to that. I recently visited our cabin in a small town in northwest NC and was struck by the number of empty windows on the main street... lots of "going out of business" signs. we are soooo isolated from reality here in the DC area. I do feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to own such a wonderful ride in this crazy economy.
