Smile Added the New/Old school "PORSCHE" letter emblems to my 997

I love how the new 2012 911 brought back the old "P O R S C H E" letter emblems they used to have on the old 1970's 911's. So I thought I would add it to my 997.

Nice touch!!

Rep point to you for a great idea.

Where'd you source the letters? Suncoast?

Gotta admit - those are cool. I am a retro guy at heart, so this speaks to my soul.

Thanks guys, I got the letters from a local Porsche dealership, however it was for a Panamera and the letters aren't as spaced out as much so I had to space them out individually. Using a lot of painters tape, measuring, patience and a few beers.

After the 2012 991 comes out, I'm sure you could just order the emblems that were made for the 991 and it would be perfectly spaced. I couldn't wait though haha

I like it, however I think it looks the best on the 70's model.

That looks GREAT. I think the 2012 models look a bit busy with all of the script on the back. Just the plain PORSCHE is a perfect touch...hmmm...holiday gift to myself....hmmm

Nicely done, and thanks for sharing. They look less susceptible to catching a wash mitt or towel compared to the flimsy plastic scripts used on the 997.

Looks super, but not for me. Hate anything that catches wax or have to worry about polishing around. Very cool tho...

Very nice retro touch. Well done.

O/T: Could you provide some data on your rear spoiler? At first I thought it was a GT3TEC item but now I'm not too sure. Thanks.

Thanks all!

It looks very simliar to the GT3 track cup wing. It came with the car and I took it off because it looked way too crazy for a street car. It had the "GT3" cut out on the sides where it held the wing as well. It's definitely a replica and too "rice" looking for my taste. So for now it's just the decklid, but I'll be replacing it soon with a GT3 RS lid/wing.

The wing looks exactly like this one in this video:

This video is so cool btw.
