Porsche Experience Center - Opening in Southern California

Check this out - Looks like this will be a blast

"The 51-acre facility is designed to be a "center of excellence for vehicle and human performance education, from track experiences and driver training to car culture events," says Porsche."

Sweet!!

Didn't know there are still lands this big in LA area. Must be next to that golf course adjacent to the 405.

here's another link...looks like they're gonna take down the golf course there

http://www.dailybreeze.com/news/ci_19351917

The site is just off the San Diego (405) Freeway near the Main Street exit, where the Dominguez Hills Golf Course is currently located. The 18-hole, 3-par golf course - which has a popular two-deck driving range and and a landmark statue of a huge golfer, would be shut down.

Nearby, the Don Dominguez apartments, a 64-unit complex at 19702-19822 S. Main St., has recently been vacated and will be demolished in the next few weeks to make way for the Porsche facility, Hoyos said.

Interesting that the track is being designed by Herman Tilke's firm, which has designed all of the new F1 tracks introduced over the last decade. I wonder what American shape will be used as the inspiration for the layout. A hamburger? A pistol?

Does anyone think this would allow PSDS to run programs in LA as well as at Barber in Alabama? That would be great!
