I've been driving Porsches since 1983. I just traded a '06 F430 F1 coupe for a 2012 GTS and an envelope of cash. Owning a Ferrari was on my bucket list. I found it akin to dating a smoking hot super model - fun and exciting most of the time, but she could be *****y and demanding at other times. I was looking to get back to the everyday, go anywhere usability of a Porsche. I chose the GTS over waiting for a 991. I didn't want the first year of a new model. The GTS with PDK has been excellent for the first 3000 miles. All I miss is the high pitched wail of the flat plane V8 revving to redline. Are your sure you need a 4? The rear wheel drive GTS has a bit nicer steering feel and weighs less. I had a 993 C4S and a 996TT, so I knew I iddin't need the AWD.

Good luck with your decision.

You wonder if you will hate it? You probably shouldn't get it then. Get something that you don't think that you will hate as your first impression...

Since you're in Raleigh I assume you've been by Leith and put eyes on the GTS 4 on the showroom floor.

She's a stunner.

I have a 2012 GTS that I love. It is not the AWD however. The Carrera 4 GTS at Leith is very nice. I think you will probably like the car. I guess you be buying from Hall L. out there. I bought my GTS from him also.

PBR ME is infamous around these partsPBR ME is infamous around these parts
I just took Delivery of my 2012 4 GTS this week. I leased it as a daily driver... I also have an 11 GT3RS, but needed the AWD and a leased car to DD in Chicago all year. I have previously owned an 07 Turbo and feel that the AWD on this new car is MUCH better than the 07 turbo... it just seems like the diffs don't lock and unlock as much in a constant radius turn (on and off ramps)...not positive this is the case since Ive only had it a few days, but it seems to be better. over all this car with PDK is just a spectacular Daily driver!!

Hmmmm....go with your gut....and if you don't like how it ends up, do the other. Seems you have the ability to be flexible given your current stable.

Personally, I need to limit myself to 1 Porsche so I opted for 2012 GTS rwd.

The GTS is a fantastic and daily driveable swan song to the 997. I would strongly suggest you stick to the RWD version though- especially with your gt3 history

Go with the red GTS...because it has less letters on it.

Love my GTS, not quite a GT3 but a damn good time every day. I think that should be how Porsche's 'Everyday' marketing should have read: Engineered for a DAMN good Everyday.
