what's the fastest you've ever been CAUGHT driving, ad how did it go?

10 years ago in my Z06 corvette, I was only 28 and very foolish. I drove over 100mph almost everyday and had not been caught for a long time. Finally one Saturday morning on the way to work, freeways were empty so I was really going. Then in a far distance I see a motorcycle CHP with his lights on so I pulled over. He said that I was averaging 113mph and that he could have me arrested and impound my car, but he will just give me a ticket for 100+ instead.
One week later I had to drive up north to visit family and was stuck in memorial day traffic through LA so the trip took twice as long. I was driving the speed limit the whole way until the last 20 miles where a car was doing about 95mph so I thought if I follow him then he will get the ticket and not me. A few mintues later the CHP pulled us both over, handcuffed us and yelled at us like a drill sargeant as all the cars drove by looking at me in handcuffs (humiliating).
He said we would spend the weekend in jail until the judge comes back from vacation, but ended up letting me go with just a warning. He was really pissed because he thought we were racing but I said "why would I want to race a pontiac sedan in my Z06", that pissed him off even more.
Anyway had to sell the car at a 6k loss to get a Acura TL, hired 2 different lawyers to be able to keep my license and those fees along with the fines were an extra 2k. I went the next 8 years without a ticket.

Holy shxt!!! I don't condone breaking the law, but driving at 100mph in a straight line on an open highway in a car engineered to be safe at that speed, should not be a criminal offense. Tickets and fines ate ok you pay to play the game, but getting arrested and being treated like a criminal c'mon
It was neccesary to scare the crap out of me and it worked.

I was one of the guys pulled over. In all, about 160 of the 220 cars were stopped.

Here is one of the videos:
And another:
Lets just say that I was doing a lot more than the posted limit. When the trooper got up to me he had about a 3 inch thick collection of licenses.
Most of us were let off with a warning. Including me.

i rarely drive at high speed anymore.
However, at times, i still speed on long empty stretches on my way to vegas.. and it will only be for a short spurt. i still hit over 150 mph.
i just like to open her up once in a while 'cause i think she was meant to run hard.. like a race horse now i try to do that at a DE rather than on the streets
last two tickets:
1- going 130mph.. ticketed for 110 mph.. two DMV points and $900+ fine.. and the CHP doing every possible DUI test to arrest me.
2- going 130 mph.. ticketed for 99mph.. one point and $450+ fine.. this CHP was super nice and even complemented my car.
like i said, i don't speed on highways anymore..

Not unless you're doing a 24 Hours of LeMons and they wrap you up in Saran Wrap and make you eat a meatloaf before letting you go!

Wow, some crazy stories! After reading them, I don't know if I should speed up or slow down.
I think my highest speed ticket was about 87 mph in a 65 on a totally open highway. The officer seemed to feel sad about having to stop me, so he reduced the violoation to failure to obey a traffic control device, zero points. My radar detector gave me about 3 seconds warning before he got me, so the ticket probably would have been much worse had I not slowed down.

With 220 sweet cars on a road like that at once they should've given you a police escort instead of pulling you over! Wish I'd have been there!

Transition from northbound 5 freeway to westbound 118 to Reseda Blvd exit = 115 mph for approximately 5 miles @ 11:45 pm coming home from work. CHP finally caught up to me as I was exiting freeway at Reseda. After showing my ID officer asked how fast was I really going because by the time they caught up to me they clocked me at 90 on the off ramp. I was honest with him and told him 115. Much to my surprise he started to ask me about my p-car (2009 C2S, Meteor Grey, PDK) asking me how much, etc.... We conversed for about 10 minutes and after checking lic & reg told me have a good evening. Lucky me!!

After all was said and done a few of the Troopers asked if they could pose next to our cars for pictures! With the exception of the little runt of the litter female Trooper in the first video all of the other Troopers were courteous and polite. They had a job to do; we all understood that. The little elf Trooper just had a terrible, nasty attitude.
PS we did have an escort (or at least intersections blocked) at the start of the rally.
Here are a few videos of the start:

146mph on I-94 outside of Madison on my way La Crosse Wisconsin...on a motorcycle, early spring...so...it was very, very cold.
At the time I believe the system was called VasCar. The Officer was traveling in the opposite direction and thought his system jammed. He turfed across the center divide and started his pursuit. I knew I was f'd so I slowed down to 45-50mph unlit he got on my back side and then pulled over. Average speed ended being pretty low but still over the 55mph speed limit at the time. The Officer was actually very cool and polite, not to mention thankful I chose not to run (i.e. die). Gave me a ticket for under $100 dollars and sent me on my way. But before doing so, he asked how fast I was actually going. I asked if I told him the truth if it would change things, he assured me not. So I told him when I looked down I saw 145-150ish. That is when him mention the radar jamming/locking comment. He sent me on my way and told me to be careful.
130+ again on motorcycle outside of Kirkwood heading toward Reno. CHP got me in a Blazer or something....got to talking...turns out he was from La Crosse Wisco and let me go! Unbelievable! In the end honesty rules.
I have a few more where I wasn't so lucky, but still challenged the system.
Just remember, you may think you're faster.....but you're NEVER faster than a radio.
Speed of Light.
