I would assume that something like this would have to be on par with aftermarket solutions options that people are using with their existing units or in replacement. Although I think that 997.1 PCM is more dated than it should be, I can't imagine spending thousands of dollars to facelift one.

On a related topic if this upgrade is possible, im assuming a pcm 2.1 to pcm 3 upgrade might technically be possible also?

How hard was the cdr 24 - 30 upgrade?

The cost might even be a bit less than $500. You can buy a new CDR30 on eBay for $197.95. Search for "997.645.138.04".
