Looking at a GTS

Great advice!!! Trail braking with gentle brake off and power on. When timed perfectly gives a cool power on neutral drift.

When we track the car, my primary issue concern has been oversteer and we reverse the relative inflation of the tires front and rear, i.e., increased pressure bias at front and increased contact patch at rear. To find your individual car's sweet spot relative to correcting understeer, you will have to document the effects, via trial and error, of varying tire pressures on handling. Would suggest starting with 2 pound increments front versus rear (and possibly both up and down, depending on sidewall spec / tire)

to correct the way how street car behaves on a track one really needs to rebuild suspension at least partially to get it to gt3 car specs, or in GTS case to GT3 RS specs.
no matter how you play with tires with -1 degree max in front you cannot correct understeer, you got to have from -2 to -3 camber in front and less camber in rear.
LCAs and GT2 sway bars are a must thing to do if car gets tracked, otherwise you will end up destroying outer edge of your tires every track day.
also if you look at cup car specs you`ll see they have 2" split between front and rear rims - 9" front goes with 11" rear, 11" front goes with 13" rear. tires should fit on rims a bit stretched, not staggered to avoid excessive 'floating' in the corner.
as of what you get from GTS car compared to 997.2 base - imho you get a lot, if you order GTS with SPASM and LSD. in case of 997.2 'S' it is obviously less, in case of 997.2 'S' with SPASM and LSD options i would not even bother. wide rear axle is nice but it is all relative.
i seriously consider to pick up nicely optioned GTS car when they will start popping up after 3 year leases and replace my current car with it, time will show how GTS prices will hold after 991 car will get into 2nd-3rd year of production and most glitches will be fixed.

For my GTS, I went with GT3 LCA's to get more camber in the front, GMG sway bars front and rear note (the rear cross brace is a bit strange, maybe a turbo part versus as GT3/RS part such that we have a swap it to fit the sway bar). I also went with new suspension links at the back (but these are not likely a huge deal) and MPSC's versus the Pzero's So what did I get?
The car is fantastic as a daily driver and turns much better at the track. The problem is the faster I got the more I needed HANS, harness, roll bar, etc. So...
I got a used GT3. the GTS is a daily driver, the GTS is for the track. The difference is night and day. I personally would love a PDK GT3 but the manual is like a rifle bolt and the car is amazingly sorted, much much predictable than the GTS (with or without mods).
For my 8 or so track days I can do 1:42 at Laguna and 2:01 at THunderhill in the GT3, do not think I could do close to that with the GTS in is current form (which is more track friendly than stock).
Conclusion...
There is lots you can do with a GTS to make it track friendly, dial out the understeer and have a blast with it. Please consider safety equipment, the GTS is a darn fast car and a head and neck restraint, harness and roll bar/cage should be part of every seriously fast track car. At some point you will get to diminishing returns with add ons and mods where a GT3 or such will likely be a better, more well behaved option.
Good luck and have a blast.
