Looking at a GTS

Looking at a GTS
Time on my hands today so I stopped in to look at cars. I saw a good looking C2 GTS black/black aero 6 speed with sport suspension. And then I took it for a drive and then.........
So now I am debating trading my 09 C2S for the GTS. Tough decision

I would think it would all depend on the deal, I would not assume that you would get a bad deal. Thou you didn't say what year of GTS it was. I would be interested in what kinda of deal they would make. I am very happy with my GTS and have no desire to get the latest and greatest, seems like every year the new model is better? But I have a Porsche GTS and I don't really care if someone has a better porsche than mine!

Have to agree with everyone else on this. The difference in the two cars isn't that big. Unless you get a really good price on your C2S and a massive discount on the GTS, the price differential is likely to be too high to justify switching. Plus, I'd wait for the 991S, which you might like more than the GTS (it certainly has me drooling).

I traded my 2008 C2S for a 2012 GTS and LOVE it. I debated whether to wait on a 991, but didn't want the first model year, so I would have been looking at almost two year wait from the time I bought my GTS. Plus, I really like the GTS and wasn't so sure about the 991. I don't think the GTS will take a big hit once the 991 arrives. Sure it will depreciate, but not like a rock just because the 991 is available. We have known about the 991 for quite a while, so the depreciation hit on the GTS due to the introduction of the 991 has largely been factored in.
If you like the GTS, get it. They are great cars. I plan on keeping mine for a long time.

I would think that the pricing of your trade combined with the deal on the GTS is relative. What I mean is, the potential low trade value for your current car should be offset by a good discount on the GTS. And given that most auto dealers are struggling to find good used car inventory, you might be in a better position than you think. It certainly can't hurt to try to work a deal. If you're not comfortable with it, there's no one forcing to you take it. If you like the deal and want the car, then go for it.
I think the biggest consideration is your interest in the 991. If you think you'll want one in a year or so, you should hold off. But if it's not on your radar right now...then see if you can work a decent deal. Money (loans/leases) has never been cheaper than they are today, and with the new 991 coming, the deals aren't going to get any better than the EOY ones out there now.
I can't say that the GTS is going to be one of those 'classic' 911s, but it is certainly one of the better ones. I love mine so much I just bought out my lease last week for a very low interest rate...and saving $120/month on top. There's never been a better time to buy a car.

IMO... the urge to upgrade to something else will always exist. New models come out with new features, performance, etc.
If you don't mind the additional cash outlay go for it, the GTS is a great vehicle. So too is the 991, and each model to follow.
I would update your pick. Sounds like you already have a sweet 911 btw.

Your telling me the 23 extra Hp or .1 sec 0-60 times makes a difference on the street.
The torque is the same...no?
If buying new I would say yes....go the GTS route...with a 997.2 in hand...IMO it is not a good choice.
Especially with the 991 coming out in 8 weeks.

You would be the first person on 6speed to make the move from a 997.2 C2s to GTS. Did u feel that the car was much different than yours during your test drive. If the whole package is what appeals to you ie the alcantara, CL wheels, widebody etc. more than the x51 then pull the trigger. My recommendation is to stay with the C2s but if you are still driving it with a cloud of unhappiness then you got to swap cars as it is not worth driving a car that does not excite you any more. How about A CPO GTS ?
