I am confused and need help with my new DRL lights...
Can anyone figure this out? Am I missing a part? So the DRL's are plugged in. The only time I can get the LED bottom row of lights to turn on is when the car is OFF & I flip the switch over one notch past Home (the fogs) When the car is ON only the Daytime running light works? In every position only the little middle light work again when the car is running.
Im I missing something?

Thats because you did not buy DRL's, you bought an exact replacement of your OEM lights that use LED's instead of regular bulbs..................
We tried to clear up this confusion in other threads. ROTtec calls them DRL because in a Canadian spec car (which comes with OEM DRL function) you are converting to LED DRL function.
The good news is, it's a pretyy easy fix. Search the threads for my write up on installing a Dectane DRL module. The cost is about $50 and can be done with no special tools in about 1 hour. Then you will have true DRL function with the bottom row of LED's.

Is there any negative adverse effect with pulling out the light switch and keeping it out every time I turn on my lights or is it just more manual labor & inconvenient than anything?

It's just more of an inconvenient, IMO. Every time I drive my car at night, I would use the fog light function as an aid to the regular lights. Been doing it for the past 4 yrs. The fogs still work every time I turn them on.

Some folks don't mind manually turning on the lights or even driving with their full headlights on for safety. But true DRL function would give you just the lower row of LED's on with no other lights on the car turned on, and it happens automatically.
