Thank you all for the complements. I currently have the privilege of working for the business community as the President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. Sadly, my only word-based job was as a Legislative Research Analyst for the State House of Representatives. Basically, my job was to distill legislation into one to two page summaries. It was all technical and not good for improving ones creative writing skills.
The car in the garage is a 1978 280z which I acquired six years ago. It's almost one hundred percent stock and has only 43K miles on the clock. She’s due for a good dusting off and a ride to Flagstaff, after the long hot summer!

Great read. I recently had a very similar experience at the same dealer. Fell in love with a 2006 C2S. Seriously, the exhaust sound at start up was amazing. When I started it up, my 3yr old son and I looked at each other with the biggest smiles... We were both sold. Unfortunately my experience differs from yours because we left in the car we showed up in. Someday... Until then, we'll make do with the 7 Series we bought a few months before at the dealer next door.

Great story and well written! It is hard to hold my interest, but I was entertained throughout that post. The text conversation between you and your wife is .
Congrats on the car! I have a 08 C2S in meteor grey just like yours.

I have had 35 911's! You don't go through that many and not have a wife as understanding as yours!!! I also have a wonderful partner! Great luck with cars and life!! It is a great "ride"!

35 911's..now THAT'S the story I want to read! To answer the previous question, I'm 42 and I didn't necessarily part with the 996 as much as I parted ways with the girl who owned it. Thankfully, we're still friends and she got a great kick out of seeing me finally acquire my own Pcar.
