New 911

New 911
I'm currently searching for a new 911. I was wondering how much of a discount I should expect from a dealer on a new '11 911. I was considering getting a 4s. Thanks ahead of time.

A local dealer here in Long Island NY 2 months ago told me about $10k off there 2011 and 2012's except they wanted full sticker for the black edition. He said it has over $7k in factory options included meanwhile I just checked and they still have it.

I saw a sweet looking black on black '11 4s with an msrp of $121,600. It was offered to me at $102,000. I think that this sounds like a smoking deal. I just wanted to check with some people who may be more knowledgable to see if it as good a deal as it seems. I would assume that dealers are discounting as to make room for the 991s.

What that really means is that the last of the new 997's won't disappear from dealers for at least another year, so even with coupes you won't see tremendous pressure to "make room" for 991's. The dealers have plenty of storage space and plenty of potential buyers who like the 997 in some special configuration that can't be matched with a 991 yet.

I just got an email from a local dealer here in No CA with $17k off on a 2012 GTS and $18k off a 2011 TT. It was supposed to have an expiration of 12/31/2011 but I think with the 991 introduction, it can only get better. But be aware that inventory is really slim nowaday so the price may bottom out soon.

I think it sounds like a great deal. Assuming you're talking about a new car that hasn't been registered at all. Before they began taking orders on the 991, a good negotiator could get that car for 110, maybe 109. That means you're being offered another 8k off that good-negotiator price. I don't think we're going to see the offered prices get much better just because of the 991. Those who think that way should remember that Porsche is a small company as these things go. They do phased introductions. The 991 coupe will be first, then the Cabriolet, then they'll start talking about the new turbo and rumors will start to fly about the new GT models and so forth.
