Anybody with the PCM 2.1 update CD?
Hi!
I have a 2005 911 with a PCM 2.1 head unit, non navigation. My current software version is (get this) 1.0.
This is what I have currently:
PCM Version 04202JD1/3004
I think I need a Multimedia Update CD1 part number: 000.043.205.46.002 to get it to level B, and after that,
I would need a 000.044.901.40.
At this point, I will be more than happy with the 000.043.205.46.002 if anybody has it...
I will really appreciate it.
thanks!

Hi Djork, I got a copy from AP 997S, when I'm done with mine, I will ship it to you, along with the instructions...

How do you find out what version you're at?
I'm curious if I need to upgrade too...

What do these updates get you?

depending on your PCM, faster loading (great if you have a dension/ipod thing), fix of bugs, CD skipping and MP3 CD playing capabilities.

Just to build on Joel's post. Depending on the hardware level of your PCM you'll get what Joel mentioned plus the ability to run a later NAV DVD. The original NAV DVD was 2004 w/ this upgrade you can run at least 2007 (more POI, map data, etc). Of course you'll need to buy the NAV DVD from Porsche ($$$).

And all of that was possible in part because of the great people of this forum... special thanks to AP 997S which was instrumental for this to happen.
