Mirror mount radar bracket for 997.2?

Can't find one anywhere that fits our weird mirror type <non-dimming flip down version> Are any of you guys using a radar detector mirror mount bracket with your 997.2 09's? If so can you post where you got it, thanks!

Does it work? The gps is suppose to have clear line to the sky?

Also the bumper plug one says it only works with powered mirrors. Mine is not the self dim, so I'm not sure if it will work with mine. Will call them on Monday.

I have the 9500ix w/gps , when I bought it I asked passport if it came w/ visor clip. That is how I have all my cars wired and i just swap the detecter from car to car. I wired the 997 to the celing console for 12v like always. I then decided to buy the new 9500, when I asked about the clip he said no, it doesnt come with one because the 9500 has gps and needs a clear view to the sky at all times. If it was up on the celing it would lose gps. So they dont recommend using it.
So I kept my old clip, waited for the 9500 to come. Hooked it up , drove around. No problem. Works perfectly. Just shows you what the experts know. The only time I lose it is when i go thru a tunnel.

Ok so after a weeks research there is no bracket made for the flip <non-self dim> mirror of the 997.2 that will hold a radar detector other then a V1. I guess I'm back to the cig lighter lol. Btw, I went with a Beltronics GX65 detector. Same guts as 9500ix but $150 cheaper. Brand new was $350 no tax and free shipping. I liked the idea of the V1's arrows, but I HAVE to have the ability to block false signals on my drive which the GX65 does. I don't want to listen to it screech all day from door openers. The red light GPS feature is nice as well. I go hit in CA on vacation a few years ago by one of those things and the ticket was $600 for a rolling RIGHT hand turn. Complete joke.

I used the Escort mirror mount from Bumper Plugs to mount my Passport, just had to redrill the mount holes after removing the suction cups. Works perfect and looks great, no GPS problems.

Ran across this during my search for a bracket. I haven't tried it but it seems feasible.

I agree, $90 for a mounting bracket is ridiculous.

Bought it 5 years ago it works fine. Give them a call & tell them the mirror stem diameter.

This seems to be what you need - see LINK for non-dim mirror mount.

Thanks but I have a Beltronics GX65 otw and the Bledmount is incompatible with my mirror. It literally shows a picture of my mirror and says "incompatible" lol. I guess because on the 09's Porsche used a short stubby mirror connector and there is nothing to latch on to. Annoying. I don't want to use suction cups but there are no other solutions, which seems stunning to me.

Btw on that other page linked about it does not even show 09 Porsche's as a compatible car. Blah.

I just use a small piece of Velcro, one piece stuck to the dash and the other to the back of the unit. The GPS doesn't have to be hanging high on the windshield, it works just fine hanging off the dash.
