OK, here's a good one for you:
I have a brand new GTS Cab with about 1400 miles, and I've picked up on a very interesting pattern.
The radio tuner has a tendency to turn itself on spontaneously when passing under a bridge, or when around fairly tall buldings. I live in Santa Fe, so there aren't any hi-rises, but when I drive downtown, and am around 3 or 4 story buildings, the tuner turns itself on repeatedly.
What the hell?

OMG! I think you're on to something!

which tuner - AM, FM or XM?
If:
- AM very normal
- XM can be typical depending on density of terrestrial repeaters in area as satellite "line of sight" gets blocked
- FM not really normal
- CD or iPod, see Santa Fe......Los Alamos.....UFOs conspiracy above
Does it really turn itself off or just go silent and then return when clear of tall/overhead obstacle? You're under warranty, have the dealer look at it. But if it's AM only, be prepared for them to tell you they found the source and it's a short between steering wheel and driver's seat
Good luck

If that latter, then it's not turning itself on, it's merely dropping the mute setting. That happens because the high-school intern they allowed to program the entertainment sections of the device thinks that you naturally want the volume turned on when the device initializes. The same thing happens to me when I have everything muted and I get a phone call. I answer it, talk, hang up and some damn Latino FM station begins belting out salsa rock.
The system defaults back to 'FM' (which we don't have around here) and to "volume on" whenever something interrupts it and it 'resumes' in any sense. Coming out of a phone call is treated as a 'resume', as is ejecting a CD, or having the signal disappear and then come back. The signal went away, so the PCM went into a search mode, then the signal came back. Resume! Shazam, hit the volume.
Hope the damn kid gets a girl friend and wants a life before we buy another Porsche. Maybe they'll let one of the upholsterers program the next version. The one who laid out the database for the map function perhaps.

Possibly a way was considered, but the kid had to go study for mid-terms before he had time to code it in.
