I had the car out this past Sunday as it's been so nice and warm this winter on Long Island. It felt like every person was pulling up close to my bumper and then pulling next to me trying to make me go faster.
Funny thing was all the cars were like Camry SE's, 4 door Nissan's and Honda Accord's.
All these people driving very aggressive like they have something to prove.
That's it rant is over.

 

thought I was the only one experiencing this.
I pulled over to make sure no one put a "race me" sticker on my car when I wasn't looking..
the older/beaten the car is, the more they will attempt to race you..

 

get use to it.

some are baiting you to truly race, others know they'll get blown away but just want to see your car take off in flight.

This happens to me all the time down in Florida. I've gotten used to it now, but at first I thought it was .

 

happened to me all the time... especially with 3 series BMWs of all vintages and any 2 door older honda

 

LIE is the worst for that. Minivans, Yugos, Escalades... they're all ready to tango with a P-Car... as are the LEOs' waiting in the wings

 

Hasn't happened to me yet in this car.... In fact in a straight line there are a lot of those little cars out there that would give me a headache...

I've noticed that SUV's & pickups 'hover' in my blind spots, I think they're checking out the interior as well as the exterior. Who knows. Funny when cars pass, the kids in the back seats turn around to check out the car. No more peace signs anymore however. Remember that?

 

keep in mind that some of these people are catching up to you just to get a better/closer look at your car

Happened more to me with the Corvette that the p-car.

 

It's not so much the desire to race me, but I have never been tail-gated so often in any other car. Peolpe seem to love to ride my bumper. It just makes me slow down...

 

This is something my wife just mentioned to me, whenever she drives with the top down she says all kinds of cars Lambos to S/B's wanna' race her..she ignores them

On Sat night, my pregnant wife and I were on a local 6 lane highway and an M3 was merging from an onramp as we were cruising around 70mph. I said, "This M3 is going to wanna race." She thought I was being silly and egotistical, but it caught up and stayed even with us for a couple of seconds then he took off, surely as fast as it could go. She laughed and thought he was a big dbag.

After about a minute rounding a turn we found him still in the fast lane only doing about 60. Obviously, he was waiting for us and as we maintained the same speed in the middle lane, he took off again. My wife got pissed and I told her that some drivers are just f'ing idiots...and that (as I've read on this forum and Rennlist time and time again, many M3ers sell to move up to a p-car.

 

Porsche has an intimidating factor. Is it the car or the driver?
