I just bought a 911, my first Porsche, and like many of you, it's been a dream of mine since I was 12 years old. However, my first few weeks as a Porsche owner has been disappointing.

Within two weeks of picking it up I've had three separate CPO warranty issues that needed to be corrected, on three completely separate occasions.

First Trip:
- Battery cable replaced - battery wasn't charging due to corroded cable
- Spoiler lubed/cleaned - groaning/creaking when activated
- E-brake adjusted - sticking badly

Second Trip:
- Check engine light - cracked ignition coils replaced

Third Trip:
- Check engine light - software flash (misfiring when engine is cold)

I know these aren't serious issues, and the dealer (Pfaff Porsche) has been great to fix everything under the warranty. I even had a Cayanne S loaner for three days while they checked into the Check Engine issue the 2nd time... But finding these issues so soon after buying my very first Porsche has definitely taken a toll on the joy & excitement I initially had just after bringing my new baby home for the first time. I know this car isn't immune to technical faults and the like, but on a CPO car with only 20k miles I guess I just expected everything to be "perfect".

Now that the car has been fixed and sits home in the garage, I feel as if the days that it spent in the shop (while it should have been home, with me!) wore me down, and now the magic feels as though it has faded. I love the car, but just feel somewhat disappointed. Will this disappointment melt away? How do I get the feeling back that I had the day I brought her home?
Well, get the keys, get in the car, start it up and back it out of the garage and then go drive it like you stole it. Repeat daily. You should be feeling like any normal Porsche owner within a few days.

20K on the car but it is almost 7 years old. Minor stuff and they are handling it great.

Caughtacab911 is infamous around these parts
I also have an 05 S cab that I bought in July 08 with 20K. It was back in the shop within a week or two under CPO warranty for various things. I attribute the problems more to the dealer's shoddy prep than to the car. In addition to a broken windscreen and missing battery mount, two of the tires were cupped on the inner tread and yet their service department a) failed to notice a problem and b) couldn't diagnose it. Another dealer found it in 5 minutes and the original dealer then replaced them at no charge. They did go out of their way for me, but it's time-consuming and discouraging for the reasons you cite, especially after realizing that you've finally bought your dream car.

As others have suggested, just drive it and enjoy, knowing that you have coverage and that things can and do get "out of spec." After 50K miles over 3+ years, whenever I turn the ignition key I still think of it as an event - and it brings a smile to my face.
