By the way, in case I change my mind, where did you buy the DRL module from?
Hopefully you continue to not have issues. BTW, I turned my switch to the OFF position the last week (after the first dead battery on HOME) and still had the issue.

I picked up the DRL module from Frank at Orange Tuning. info@orange-tuning.de Last weeks exchange rate brought the total to $54 shipped.

My car had a slow start yesterday. I got out the charger and the battery was way low. Sad to say...looks like there is a draw with this hack. Bummer. I will continue to watch the situation.

sorry to say but I couldnt get the car started today after the DRL hack, so will be removing this. I would be interested in seeing if the diode trick works however.

Yikes! I've had mine done for a few weeks and have had strong starts. Then again, I have a fairly new battery and it has only sat a maximum of three or so days between starts.

If I drove mine everyday I might notice much of a draw...but I may go a couple of days without driving. Car is 5 years old so battery may be getting low on ability to hold a charge. I don't have anything else running or left on when I'm not driving. Doubt I will reverse the mod...just have to watch it and see what happens.

I didn't want to wait to see if my new battery can handle the new hack, so I decided to add the module anyways.

I haven't experience any problems yet. I'm thinking about getting front LED's from FVD but I'm not sure if I need the DRL Module...

I did the hack on March 7th and have not had any problems thus far. My battery is 2 years old & all the start ups have been strong. The longest the car has sat (car was locked) without the battery tender has been 7 days & it started without any problem. However the light switch was in the off position & not the Home setting.

If you did the Utkinpol hack, then you will not need the Dectane Module for DRL.

NikosF is infamous around these parts
Does anyone know how the diode should get wired in - which direction for the current?

I am a bit worried about the hack 'as is' and more keen to try the diode or the Dectane module (although it seems to be a bit more work)

Are you actually experiencing problems?

If not, I wouldn't worried about it unless your actually having problems.
My car sat in the garage over a couple of 3 day periods in Home mode, and so far no issues with start up or battery drain. If it becomes a problem, then I'll do something but right now it's a lot of heresay...

Car has sat since Saturday and battery was dead this afternoon. I left the light switch in the off position during this whole time. Something must be drawing down my battery. Don't know if the hack is the reason or maybe my 5 year old battery is giving up. I'm going to be out of town for a couple of days so I'm going to charge the battery and then leave the switch in the home position and find out if that causes a drain as well.

I will keep post my results.

Before you recharge the battery make sure water is covering over the top of the battery plates. The water level should be about a 1/4" below the top of the slit in the fill hole. I top off the battery with distilled water 2-3 times a year.

I already put the charger on...but when I get home I will check out the level.

Well just like you guys... dead battery. Even leaving it on OFF. Any issue with the Module from Frank?

Did you guys purchase a new battery or charge it up?
