About to pull the trigger GTS Cab

About to pull the trigger on a 2011 GTS Cab - was considering C4S Cab also

I've requested a DME report. The car is out of state so I have not driven it. I'm getting it from a Porsche dealership (not private seller).

Anything else I should be doing before pulling the trigger?
Should I have the dealer take off the side decal "Carrera GTS"?

I like the decal. Are you getting a good price on the GTS? Is it CPO'ed?

Not sure. It's more than I thought it would be but it's hard to tell - Porsches seem to hold their value extremely well.

It's a 2011 with 9500 miles. Not CPO'd. 6 speed. MSRP was 128k. Listed at 105k. Agreed to 102k. It's about 20% off MSRP. Still seems high to me has the 991's start rolling out (I know there's no Cab or GTS yet on 991) but if you look for preowned GTS Cabs, there are very few of them and all of them are listed from 108k up through 120k.

Still waiting for DME report but dealer said it was driven by an older gentlemen who babies his cars. Said on screen DME report said 0 overrevs over range 3 but awaiting the official report.

that should cover it...

I think 102K would be great with CPO...decent price if 3 years of original warranty left

good luck

What buckwheat listed is good information to have. A CPO is a good private sale leverage point down the road. Based on the car you are looking at the warranty would be 6 years from first date of service or 100,000 mi. That's a lot of worry free driving.

Good info. Thank you.

Car Fax Shows it was originally purchased/registered/titled on 4/26/2011 which is about 10 months ago.

Through simple math, does that mean I have approximately 3 years/40k miles left on the warranty? Or does reselling somehow change the warranty period?

You are correct - 3 years and two months to go, or 50,000 miles - whichever comes first.

if you can get them to cpo it you get an additional two years....thats what I would try to get at 102K....or even split the difference...say 103k and you have a great car with 5 years of coverage.

I love mine. For all the talk of the 991 being more stable and less twitchy, I find the 997 very stable. I thought the Cab might be less so, but up to 135mph it's rock solid (I don't know what happens after this) and I don't perceive any cowl shake.
As for the side decal, I like it, and actually wish there were some more prominent badging. I know I'm in the minority though.
What colors?
I hope it works out for you.

I would def get the car cpo'ed by them at that price. My MSRP was $124,995 with 5700 miles on it and I paid $85 with CPO. I would not of bought it without the CPO. With the 991's out you have a LOT of wiggle room on that car especially with almost 10k miles on it. As it stands not looking at the options, you are paying right at retail....the year of a model change with no CPO Just saying.

I agree with Katera. His experience shows you can get a little more out of them.

good luck

If you don't like the Carrera GTS sticker have the dealer take it off. You could do it yourself (it's not that hard - a hair dryer and some aliphatic hydrocarbon like goo-gone; I've never had a problem using WD-40 but that's me) but why waste your time when the dealer will essentially do it for "free" (and there's precious little you'll ever get from a dealer for free). Either way, but if you wait the stickers may grow on you - or you'll hate them even more when you see them.
