How to fix a scratch?

Got a small scratch on my front bumper thru the paint. Arctic Silver. What's my best option to fix it. Only scratch on the car, really don't want to re shoot the whole bumper. Orange County, CA area. Thanks!

you can get an inexpensive touch-up kit (I believe it is called a touch up pencil kit) that includes your paint and clear coat with easy applicators from your dealer

Silver is the toughest to match. If you dont want to repaimt Isuggest you find a really good scratch and dent guy. They will not charge a lot And do a decent job. Ask your local Indy shop or maybe the stealership for a recommendation.

mobile touch up guy can make it disappear. job is usually 300-400 though.

otherwise, either buff it (light scratch) or just touch it up

It depends on the scratch. If it's not too big, buff it out then fill it and clear coat it. Otherwise have it painted. Any quality body shop can do it easily.

Is the scratch in the front of the car ?
Does it have a clear bra ?
If the car does not have a clear bra , depending on the size of the scratch would the installation of a clear bra help hide the touched up repair ?
What do you think guys ???

I am not an expert, but I am going to have to say no. The clear bra should go over clean and clear surface. The fewer imperfections the better. Typically if you have even swirl marks you should have them buffed out first.

My God, don't repaint.... someone with a paint thickness gauge will blackball your car or Carfax will report it as damaged and cost you money.,
Very complicated bunch of BS with these cars....

negative... on the plastic parts they can't determine the extra paint thickness, unlike on the metal (or so a guru bodyshop guy told me)..

You're probably correct but it seems just so many negative ramifications correcting a simple flaw....

Its a scratch. As you drive you will get more and more of it. Its inevitable sorry to say specially for our p cars. Get over it and stop trying to keep your car perfect and free from something the nature throws at you you cannot avoid. Either you enjoy oggling your car or enjoy driving it. I prefer the latter and have accepted that all these are part of the ownership. Battle scars make the car more valuable imho

Some of the ultrasound gauges will allow you to measure the paint thickness on plastic parts. Most people don't have them but I have seen a few high end detailers in the Houston area that have them.

How big is the scratch? Can you hang a finger nail on it? There are many good detailing forums with information. I have read the adams forum and found some good information there.
